The Frostproof Historical Preservation Committee is very proud of the work that has been accomplished on the restoration of the old Frostproof High School Auditorium. With donations from alumni, friends and grants from the State of Florida, the main auditorium has been restored. The restoration of the seats will be finished by the end of June, but there is much work yet to be done. The focus is now on the restoration of the stage, including curtains, lighting and sound system to make the American Legion Post #95 Memorial Auditorium fully functional.

We need your help! The cost to complete this next phase is over $200,000. There is no funding available through grants from the State Historical Preservation Fund in the foreseeable future as we have received in the past. The first step towards raising this money has already been taken with the creation and dedication of the Benefactors Wall Sculpture installed in the foyer of the Auditorium (if you haven’t seen it in person, it is dramatic!). What better way to honor your family, graduating class, business or a loved one than to purchase a memorial plate that will commemorate their memory for future generations! Would you consider being a part of this restoration effort? There are a variety of levels of contributions available, beginning with a $100 minimum. In addition, you may enter into a pledge agreement payable over three years. We have enclosed a Pledge Card and a Benefactor Designation Form for your convenience that should be mailed to:

The Committee has one private box in the balcony available for $15,000, which includes naming rights, eight free tickets to all scheduled events for the next five years and private access to bathroom facilities.

The Committee is scheduling an exciting series of family events that will include gospel, country, blue grass and jazz with outstanding entertainment geared towards the Frostproof community. Look for announcements of events that are coming to the auditorium throughout the remainder of the year, culminating with the Davis Gaines Christmas Concert in December.
