City Manager: Salary range $60,000 to $75,000, DOQ. Council-manager government since 1978; ICMA (CM) recognized in 1999. BA/MPA/MBA in Business or Public Administration preferred. Minimum 5 years progressively responsible city/county manager or full-assistant city/county manager experience required. Candidates with (1) city/county managerial experience within Florida, (2) city growth experience, and/or (3) membership in ICMA, will be given preference. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Part Time Position
Graduation from a standard Senior High School or GED. Equivalent or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Enforcement, inspection, building inspection, law enforcement, land use, public administration or related field. Prefer successful candidate to possess a Level I Certification and obtain within two (2) years of hire date a level II certification. Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, building official, owners, and the general public; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to work under stressful conditions and with frequent interruptions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Responsible for daily fields inspections, as well as investigating and enforcing municipal codes, laws and ordinances within the City to ensure compliance. Prepare descriptive reports; maintain logs and records and issue Citations and Notice of Violations to property owners in violation of the City’s code or regulations. Perform follow-up inspections and coordinate with various City departments (e.g. Fire, Police, Public Works, Public Utilities, City Attorney) local, state and federal regulatory agencies, private utility companies, realtors, etc. to ensure that violations are corrected.
Respond to inquiries and provide information, interpretation and explanations concerning the City’s code compliance policies, services and procedures to city staff, advisory boards and the general public.
Serve as the staff liaison to the Hearing Officer and testify in court magistrate proceedings; perform related non-essential duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, rules and regulations, procedures and operations of codes enforcement, including property research methods, legal descriptions and general knowledge of applicable municipal laws, standards and regulations relating to various land use, nuisance and public safety codes
(i.e., City Code of Ordinances, Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Regulations, other governmental representatives and general public is essential).

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
