City Launches Frostproof on the Move!

Community leaders, local businesses, and economic and planning partners gathered to launch Frostproof on the Move, a collaborative effort that will enable the City of Frostproof to identify key community assets and set goals to implement an economic vision and strategy for the City. The meeting was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 8:00 AM at the Frostproof Community Center. Made possible by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity through a Competitive Florida Partnership grant, the project aims to identify how to build and enhance the local economy while staying true to what makes Frostproof unique have a competitive advantage. Attendees at the launch heard from Executive Director of the Central Florida Regional Planning Council Patricia Steed, City of Frostproof Mayor Rodney Cannon, officials from the Department of Economic Opportunity, and City Manager of Frostproof Tenny Croley.

The project that will extend into mid-2017 will rely on community conversations, surveys, and a public workshop to collect information from citizens, local business, and service organizations to gather stakeholder input to shape the economic vision and strategy.
